    trans diagnosis

Post by Admin on Mon Sep 05, 2011 10:50 am

i am wondering if i have a shot torque converter

when shifted into gear--either forward or reverse--there is a high pitched whine, u can feel it catch, then it whines and no pull-i can hear and feel it let go

    tc?? or valve body??

    it's a c6--behind the 300 in the van

i know it's time for a re build and i don't like the thought of doing something twice

it's all about the dollars on hand

    ps--input sppreciated

One other thing I forgot to mention, is that it could also be the pump gears.

They are on the other side of the tc/input shaft. If one of em got nicked or worn they could make a whine noise as well.

c6's are pretty easy to rebuild. Ive rebuilt a couple of AOD's and those are a bit more complicated than a C-6, soooooo

Can you change the bell housing on a C6? Anyway I'll look at the farm. I'm suppose to have a good C6 for a 390. Internal parts should fit anyway should you need them

I dont think you can on a c6 think those were all one piece.

I think the C-4 and the FMX's you could pull the bellhousing off though.
