been busy--multi tasking--automotive--carpentry(counter top)--garden--mowing--shop and work space organizing and lighting--patio lighting---on the downhill run on the automotive--putting the pontiac back together(finally)--may have gotten lucky on the c6--i had changed the oil & filter sometime back--i wanted to drain the torque converter and did not know to start it up and run it to do that--anyway, left it open for a day or 2 and apparently it did drain some, because after some short drives, it must have burped--the level was over 3 qts low--pretty much full, now for a test drive--next on the list is the bathroom repair--i think the carpet and the wall is what's holding the commode up right now

Since those aren't really a filter but just a screen, they really don't need changed. A good way to "change" all the fluid is to just unhook the return line from the cooler, start the engine and start dumping in fliud. After you have dumped in 8 or 9 quarts, shut it off and reconnect the line, then fill it to the full line like you normally would. That gets new fluid in the convertor too. Otherwise you are only changing 3-4 of the 11 or so it holds.

Alot of guys drill a hole in the converter and tap a plug back in.... never done that myself, but saw it done. I guess there is merit to the outfits that flush the whole system?

What ive been told is to take the cooler lines off and stick one in a bucket full of tranny fluid and the other into just an empty bucket.

When the coolant runs clean stop.
