425, same bore as a 455 but shorter stroke and a lot snappier revving engine IMO.385 horse and 475 Ft/lbs of torque.
This might be a keeper. I'm thinking about flat black, black wheels and dark tinted windows. And some rumble to the pipes. Of course I'll take a shot at flipping it first. If it runs decent I'll offer it up for $1800 or so (paid 7 bills) If I make a buck, I move on but it won't bother me a bit to keep this one for a while.

For some reason Ive always liked these older Toro's.

The one my dad had was a baby blue and looked pretty sharp.

    Just saying.

I'm surprised they aren't more collectable. These cars were cutting edge in 1966. The 66 Toro had new styling cues that the rest of GM and the US industry didn't catch on to for at least 2 years, like the Astro ventilation (no wing windows) the flat sail panels and the stub frame unibody construction. Not to mention the front wheel drive. It was the first American car since the 37 Cord to attempt the front drive and Olds put 1.5 million hard miles on them before they decided to sell it. Cadillac got the front drive Eldo in 67 and it was many years before another front drive model came along.
Even though I'm basically a Ford guy, I have always had a soft spot for Olds and always kinda wanted a first gen Toro.

Nice find. Never had a Toronado but those big Oldsmobubbles were good cars. No matter what the cubes gold rocket engines will get with the program when you stomp them but are pretty decent on gas if you can keep your foot out of it. Very Happy
