13 gun rules Empty 13 gun rules

Post by Admin Fri Jan 27, 2012 12:31 pm

Gun lovers. Herewith are thirteen things to remember when carrying your weapon. BTW- this list is not original. I’ve Google up the bullet points but alas …I got nada in regards to who penned it. If and when someone schools me on who the author is you can rest assure that I’ll give him or her proper praise. Enjoy.

    1. Guns have only two enemies rust and politicians.

    2. It’s always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

    3. Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.

    4. Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arms length.

    5. Never say, “I’ve got a gun.” If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off.

    6. The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes; the response time of a .357 is 1400 feet per second.

    7. The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win – cheat if necessary.

    8. Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets . . . You may get killed with your own gun, but he’ll have to beat you to death with it, because it’ll be empty.

    9. If you’re in a gunfight:

    - If you’re not shooting, you should be loading.

    - If you’re not loading, you should be moving.

    - If you’re not moving, you’re dead.

    10. In a life and death situation, do something . . . It may be wrong, but do something!

    11. If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

    12. You can say ‘stop’ or ‘alto’ or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone’s head is pretty much a universal language.

    13. You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.

Somewhere in there I'd add my favorite gun axiom.
"If the sound of me racking a round into my pump shotgun doesn't stop someone I might as well plug him right on the spot"

20 gauge side by side Yildi is always loaded with #8's. I'd rather have 00 buck but I'm in the city.
Ruger LCP 380 and Kimber 45 are loaded with Hydro shocks, The Kimber is cocked and locked.

The Mossberg is stashed loaded but without one in the chamber. I'm with WB. Jacking a round in a pump shotgun is a sound like no other. My new Ruger LCR is loaded with hollow points. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. Maybe some dirtbag will volunteer to be a target.

If it aint loaded, it's just another club.... All of mine here are ready to make noise! The pistols and anything in the vehicles are the only ones without someting in the pipe all the time..... I figure if it gets to that, I wont have time to crank one in there!

I did a dumass thing and sold my Mossberg when I was in Texas. It was a shorty with rifled barred and rifle sights, loved that gun, been thinking about buying another one. My old one was just wood but I'll get a purdy tactical one next time. I also always had a soft spot for Winchester 97, been joneing for one of those too. If I could find an original riot gun for an affordable price.

I fell into a nice deal on my Mossberg. I started out looking for a .410 pump. No specific brand, just something simple with enough punch to drop a dirtbag if need be. I really didn't want a handgun since a lot of modern ammo can punch thru a frame wall and keep on going. Not a good thing when you live in town. Guy at the gun shop had a 20 gauge Mossberg 500 youth model. The stock and barrel are a little shorter than the standard version. A simple, no frills piece and it turned out that it came packaged with a stock extension. Shorter than normal works out real nice in a 2 story house that my absolute longest range is about 35 ft. Gun, 3 boxes of shells ( small game load ) all the paperwork and taxes for $330 and change. I'd like to buy another shootin iron this year but haven't made my mind up as to what. I got a bug for a lever action rifle and I love the brass on .22 Henry but I got other things first.

Those brass Henrys are a fine piece, probably the nicest lever gun ever. But you have to drill holes for a scope and I just couldn't bring myself to do that to one. If you get the steel frame model it has a scope rail on it. 22 mag would be nice. I know several people who have them. My brother has a 17 but didn't like it so much and traded for a 22 mag, likes it much better.

mossberg has a maquiladora (mex factory) under the name maverick--200.00 +/- depending on config

i have been looking at them real close--6 shot 18 inch or 8 shot 20 inch

    i like the 8/20 in the 12 gauge-----it's a mossberg 500 inside and out

Pretty sure anyone can buy one. They also have a model with a pistol grip fore and aft but I like this one better.

That is one reason I want a 223, cheap ammo. 2 of my friends are building 5.45x39 rifles to shoot the cheap AK-74 ammo. It is about like a 222 but costs about 13 cents a round to shoot.
One of them was over last night and he offered me a gun he thought was a 223, bought it at a gunshow. It is a model 70 Winchester, appears to have never been fired but it's a 223 Winny short mag. That's a little hot trod, shoots out 4000 fps which is hotter than a 22-250 or 220 swift. He wants $380 for it, tempting.
