I was watching a show today about the dangers of a Remington 700. Supposedly every one of them ever made has a flaw in the safety and it could fire with the safety on. They had people who had been shot, one guy whose kid got killed. I'm thinking "who in the fuck carries their rifle around with a round chambered, cocked and the safety on"? Apparently some people do but I never, ever trusted a safety, I just open the bolt it I had a round chambered and never shot, no gun ever went off with the bolt open.
It's kinda like people on motorcycles who get run over by cars. Scooter is dangerous and you have to pay attention. Sorry for those who didn't but it was still something they could have prevented (usually) if they had their spidey senses on.

Apparently stupid people carry them that way. Gawd that's just nuts. A safety is like any other mechanical system in the fact that they can and occasionally do fail. All these idjits do is provide the anti gun whineys with more fuel to add to the ban them all fire.
