Re: Hot rod pics
It actually rides pretty good. I even had to stiffen up the back springs a little. After I got it out in the daylight it sagged a little in the rear, brought it up about an inch and a half.
I hauled it over to Devil's tower to a car show yesterday. Only two ratrods. Mine and my buddy with the 39 International pickup with a 4 BT Cummins. The roadster got a lot of attention. Hopefully I get my paperwork back from the state in the next couple days so I can cruise Kool Deadwood Nights next weekend.

Re: Hot rod pics
Would be cool to see that 4bt one!!
I always thought if a guy was gonna do a rat rod, it should have either a Flathead, or some sort of older concoction.
Saw one on youtube that I think ran a straight 8 and a super charger or something different like that.
Oh well have enough projects out back that need to get done first...

Re: Hot rod pics
Here's some pics of the binder. There are a lot of things I would have done different with the looks, like fenders. He has the little truck sorted out real well and drives it everywhere. The tranny is a ZF 5 speed. Nice thing about the 4BT is that it has gobs of torque but still gets 25-30 mpg.
Spart, I agree on the engine choice, I did start out with a nice 52 flatty with overdrive but the that dam east Texas humidity got to it and rusted the cylinders. What I really like is the mid 50s Olds and Caddy engines. In fact I'm kind of considering a Caddy engine for my 58 F100, but the one I have in mind is a mid 60s, probably a 429.

That looks great. Its looks kinda close getting it in his shop with those stacks. I agree with you, fenders would make it complete.
