    New shooter Empty New shooter

Many people don't know JC Higgins never made a gun, all were contract. Most were savage or marlin but a few were better names. The model 50 and 51 were on German Mauser actions and this little sweetheart they only sold 2 years was a Sako, vintage 54-56. Probably the nicest JC model I know of. A pretty good deal at 750 since most similar Sako models go $1200-$2000. I already have over 200 rounds for it.

great deal there--i got deal made on a western auto(marlin 60) 22 lr semi auto for 2 bills hand delivered--found it on the armslist site--was looking for a lever action cuz the remington 22 lr jammed on me in the middle of a fire fight with a skunk sunday morning--wouldn't have taken it out, but it was inside the fence--running the yard like a mad man--when i finally got a shot that shooted, got a direct " up the rear pipe" hit at 20 yards--a moving target amongst various obstacles ya don't want to ventilate can be tricky--the gun is clean and oiled--it was about 30 degrees, 2 jams and 2 misfires before i got a live round--couse some of this ammo may be as old as the rifle--it's a 60's vintage semi auto--appears to have been well used in it's early life--the western auto looks unused--woot

Got the deal done and it shipped yesterday. Now I'm bidding on some vintage Weaver scopes to top it off. This is the most I ever spent on a gun, by about double. Good money rolling in, need to invest and guns seem to be the best bet, dam silver I bought has been dead in the water for a couple years now. I'm also watching for a 6mm or a 257 Roberts, maybe an older tang safety Ruger or something built on a good Mauser action.

I think I'll hold out for an upswing. Unless I can make a good trade for gun(s).
