Been looking heavily at silver since its dropped almost 10 bux.

Found a listing for an ounce of .999 percent pure German Silver bars for a total of 17 bux to the door.

They had good reviews at the time of purchase, but now I go back and check em and apparently this German Silver isnt silver at all.

Its some alloy of nickel and copper etc.

    Damn.

Still gonna get me some silver though.

Bummer. Also good to know, sterling is generally about 92% silver and old American coins are 90%. Lots of people just buy junk silver coins. Beware of foreign coins, some are as low as 10%, or fakes and not silver at all. If you go to yard sales, look at old silverware and jewelry. Sometimes you can find sterling for cheap because they don't know what it is. I know guys who have gotten whole fistfulls of sterling silverware for pocket change. Go online and educate yourself to the markings, it doesn't always say sterling. If it is just silver plated, you don't want it.

silver and gold are both being manipulated---eventually this will end, but in the meantime, buyer beware
