It's that time of year again........

Post by hardtailjohn on Fri Apr 11, 2014 4:45 pm

Calves are hitting the ground.... so we have wolves hanging around. Had 3 in front of Mom & Dad's the other day, then I had one at the edge of the meadow day before yesterday. I shot at it, but it was about 600 yards and I went over him a couple inches.... Mad  So the feds came up and we laid out 7 traps. This morning we had a 90# male in one of them.... so he gets to wear a collar now, for the rest of his (hopefully short) life, so he can show us where they all are. They're just being wolves and doing what they do, but we can't even keep the dog outside if we're not around to watch....we don't need that shit!

I don't feel so bad now about trying to keep the neighbors chickens out of my newly planted lawn. I ask nice twice, now it seems my solution is same as yours.

changes are in the making--but--in the meantime--defend your self and your loved ones and the things you have either been tasked with caring for or the stuff/peeps you care for--there is no sin--fuck a buncha calf killing wolves--same as kid killing humans--they are only things fucking with us as we travel thru this sojourn--stay alive and keep ur shit alive--it's the greatest amusement park ever  cheers and don't take no wooden nikels or any fed reserve notes

We have coyote issues around here. Buggers are playing hell with the deer population. It's bad enough in some areas the state game commission will pay $25 for every non breathing coyote that is turned in.

Got a quick story on chicken control.

A coworker of mine lives on a dead end road. He has two neighbors across the road from his place. One is a couple who are both fond of weed. The other is a middle aged drunk who lives on disability after a coal mine accident. The stoners have chickens which they refuse to pen up. The drunk doesn't care if they herd elephants as long as the damn things stay out of his yard and don't shit on the porch. The drunk also loves guns. One day he leaned out a window with a .22 to scare the chickens away. The chickens responded by taking a dump on the sidewalk and kept pecking the lawn. Next thing out of the window was a 10 gauge side by side. Both barrels. The law landed but couldn't do anything. Other than a couple of tattered feathers there wasn't enough evidence to prove the chickens existed in the first place.  Laughing

That's funny, lol. I don't have a scatter gun and I live right on the edge og town with lots of neighbors, hard to get a good shot without shooting towards someone's house. I have taken care of a few "problems" with my 17 HMR. Figgered I'd take out the rooster first since he's the ring leader. We had fox that took care of a lot of chickens but he trapped the whole family. They got to coming in right in broad daylight and packing chickens away.
