Went to get me a new bottle of Dewars blue label 12. Came out of the store put the bottle behind my seat and my truck wouldn't start. No click, nothing. I remember reading on FTE this might be caused by my DP tuner so I got it out and retuned it to stock. Nothing. I then reloaded my economy tune. Nothing. Raised the hood and everything looked good. Little bit of corrsion on both two year old Interstates but not much. Both had a good water level but not completely full. Tried it again it again and nothing. Crawled underneath and my wire to my solonoid had a broken terminal end. Borrowed a screwdriver, turned the key on and crawled back underneath and jumped the solonoid to the starter. It fired right up. Drove home cleaned the terminal ends, topped off the water level with distilled water and put the charger on. When Becky got home she hauled me to to get a new heavy duty terminal end. Installed that and nothing. Checked the book and tested every fuse related to the starter. Nothing. This morning out of deseration and fear of a huge bill at the Ford house I just switched like fuses in the panel even though they ohmed out good last night. It started right up. WTF?

Gotta talk real nice to them once in a while....  Cool  My '52 GMC will do that once in a while....as well as my bump.... drives me nuts, but eventually seems to go. The bump, every now and again, will shut off the ignition with the key, but everything else keeps going....gotta go unhook the battery to get the electrical system to quit.... and as soon as the battery's hooked back up, it goes again... then one day it'll just start working "normal".....  scratch

Something is wrong with the Dewars bottle. It must have a hole in it as it seems to get lower in volume every day!

I've had a few spade type fuses that look good, ohm good and won't do chit. The instructor who teachs at the local Cummins branch has a couple of them too. He loves to toss them in at random while guys are doing the hands on part of troubleshooting classes.

Hey John take a look see at the voltage regulator on yer bump. I suspect it's sticking time to time and backfeeding the system even when the key is off.

Funny thing, that happens to my scotch too. More to the Glenlivet than the others tho.
