I noticed my truck was running about 10 pd of boost on my last trip to the deer lease when it should have been running about 5 pd or less. My thoughts were it was air in or air out was the problem. I cleaned my K&N. I had my particulate cat removed and a straight pipe put in its place. Looking into the cat after having it removed it did not look stopped up on the inside but could only see the first screen. I had been wanting to change from Rotello 15-40 to Mobil 1, 5-40 turbo diesel Syn. So I did that and a new oil filter. My boost seems nearly normal again. Mileage has jumped up I'm guessing 5mpg. Any thoughts on this? Did I miss anything?

Those new diesels are way beyond anything I know anymore.

Did it blow a code or anything?

Maybe a scan might show something.

Finally figured it out. Our small engine mechanic at work ran a diagnostic on it and it has a run resister not getting a good connection in "run" he said it should be an easy fix as he'll just solder it back. I,ll let you know how it turns out

That resistor was in my FICM. Runs great now. This fall about 2 weeks ago I turned my heater on for the first time and no heat. Research on the web said 99% chance it was the blend door control actuator.  I got one at O Rielly for 30 something bucks, watched a Utube video on how to install it and now I have heat. I got lucky on my 06 in that I didn't have to pull the dash off like the 08s and up. Hows every one been doing? Looks like its been about a year since Ive been on  here
