What oil are you guys using in your diesel engines? I thought Rotella was good but hear they removed the zinc when they reformulated it for the new emissions diesels.

no diesel here, but the oil is good--been using it in the van--has good reviews

I hadn't heard about Shell removing the zinc from Rotella but the info may be bad. The dealer is still using it for house oil unless a customer requests something different. Very few customers do. If it was an issue with emissions Cummins, PACCAR and International would have been all over it.

It was a Cummins tech who told me. The new formulation is to meet emissions requirements on the engines with the particulate filters and Urea injection. Supposedly not good for older engines.
