i believe it---i have been to 1/3 of those places during the winter--anywhere on the northern plains can be frigid living at times--women with meat on the bones and dogs will get ya thru
my personal coldest winter was on the eastern plains of colorado--seems like 1978--minus 20's every night for nearly a month--the high country was getting minus 40's--the automobile battery supply was zilch--it was a good time to live in a small town--did a lot of walking that winter--at the time it felt rough--looking back it was a pretty good time----i vividly remember some winters in northwest kansas i certainly have no desire to experience again
