National Clyde Sale Empty National Clyde Sale

Post by hardtailjohn Sat Apr 24, 2010 11:38 pm

As I mentioned in the snow post...we're in IL at the National Clyde sale. WE (Kate & I ) just got here tonight, after the sale was over. It's been a helluva ride...... left MT on Thursday night at 10:30pm, after a few "daylight to after dark" days in the shop, working on the trailer and dually. Made it 4 hours out the first night, slept about 4, jumped back in and went till after midnight again (somewhere in SD) and slept for about 4 again, then headed this way. Most of the time the damed wind was blowing so hard it took 20# of boost to keep the dually and trailer holding speed on the flat........ I'm soooooooooooooo tired! I hollered at JB on the way through SD, and we'll try to hook up on the way back through on (most likely) Tuesday. Gonna go to Sierra & Jim's (daughter/boyfriend) to drop off the 2 horses they bought and see the new house they're building. They live in NE. We didn't get here until after the sale, but Sierra bought us 3 head, so all went well. I'll throw up some pics later........right now I'm headed to bed to actually try to get some sleep tonight so we can start it all over again tomorrow.

Usually you can catch a tailwind going east, it'll probably switch before you head home so you can buck the wind both ways. Look forward to seeing you and you can sure rest your head here for the night.

    Spart,
Never got up to Watertown.......... cut south of you on the way and down in Lincoln, NE on the way back, where we dropped the horses and trailer off at the oldest girl's place, so we'll be on the way back down in a month or two to get them home...... Gonna try to hook up with JB tomorrow on the way through Belle...... then blast to home...... all sorts of crap falling apart there of course.

Rolled in here at 5am. Straight through from JB's (except for one 10 minute nap in Drummond, MT). Was welcomed home by snow and rain and wind.......geee, it's sure good to be back. hahha

OK... finally got a minute to throw up a couple pics. Sorry for the fuzzy's. These were taken in NE, at Jim & Sierra's place....we're not that green up here yet. In a month or so, we'll head back down to grab the trailer and our 3 mares and bring them the rest of the way home....after their little "visit" with Sierra's Clyde stud.
