I have a few. I think Cornish Rocks and maybe Wyandot, not sure. Orange ones and speckled ones anyway. Had some ruffled banties but the coons got them.

I'm actually a poultry judge (show birds) and when we have birds around they are cochins, brahma's and more showy birds.

i gotta say the crowd i grew up with would have been pretty rough on a poultry judge---in those days it would have been like playing the piano, instead of going out for football

At FFA nationals the Florida team was an all girl team...one of our guys walked up and asked if they would be out peker checkers lol

Sounds like Im in good company then.
This batch of chickens will consist of some polish, white leghorns, california whites, cochins, salmon faverolles, egyptian fayomi's, easter eggers, and about 7 mixed breed chicks that were saved as eggs from the previous batch that was killed.

Anybody else subscribe to Small Farmers Journal? Awesome publication out of Sisters, OR. Always has good articles about poultry and small animals, gardening, canning, as well as lots of other stuff. Comes quarterly, and well worth the price. www.smallfarmersjournal.com

Well worth it Spart! One of the things I love about SFJ is that it celebrates SMALL stuff, and smart thinking. Not a one of us here that wouldn't fit right in there!
