Re: Today's auction
I didn't see much I wanted and couldn't buy the stuff I did want for any sane price (ssems to be the trend anymore) so I left early, total spent-$19

Re: Today's auction
Good thing we don't get to go to auctions together then....with you driving prices up just by being there and me doing the same, nobody would be able to afford anything!! I always figured the buyers should take up a collection to keep me home and then prices would be rock bottom!

Re: Today's auction
auctions are weird sometimes
the farm auctions i went to growing up in KS were always full of local buyers--some simply bought things to help out whom ever was selling out
then--in TX, when i worked them--there were little cliques for each type of goodies--they tried to make sure anyone they didn't know couldn't buy anything or if they did it was a high price

Re: Today's auction
Yeah, they should pay me to come, I just run stuff up but am too cheap to pay the top dollar. I bid a nice little trash burner stove to $150, an old dry sink to $50, a set of those old factory made galvanized chicken nests to $35. There was a really nice old 1979 Ski-doo that looked almost like new that went for $300, should have jumped in on that and a Case lawn sweeper that brought $90 I should have bought too. Other than that there wasn't much for bargains.hardtailjohn wrote:Good thing we don't get to go to auctions together then....with you driving prices up just by being there and me doing the same, nobody would be able to afford anything!! Here is a couple more I am going to on Sat. Small auctions are the best place to get good deals, especially the Newell one because it's far enough out the city people won't show.

Them chicken nests aint to cheap nowadays.
I know if I were to buy the one I got for free it would be well over 300 bux and not as good.

Re: Today's auction
On the Lead surplus one, I would be interested in the table saw, the miter saw and the drill press.
If the table saw works and sells for 200 or less, bid me in okay?

Re: Today's auction
that's a great table saw(and weighs a ton)--it ought be a min 500.00--the miter saw only bevels to the right-other than that, a good saw

Re: Today's auction
JB, I don't even have to bid.... if I just show up with the idea that I'll maybe bid if something's cheap, then the prices go through the roof. If I stay home because I know it's going to go high, they're givin' stuff away!!
When they had the auction for the overhaul shop that I worked for in WA, I didn't go because I knew there were 3 other shops that were going to show up to buy the equipment.... none of them showed and I could've bought the entire stock for about 3grand! That included the hone, test cell and a truck load of spare parts... never fails!

Re: Today's auction
I'm on the drill press for me, I need one bad and both auctions have one so hopefully I will score. Also I am hoping I might get that little non-running bobcat.spartman wrote:On the Lead surplus one, I would be interested in the table saw, the miter saw and the drill press.

Not a problem. If you need it, get it. I dont need a drill press just yet.
