The 54 S100. I took some pictures with my new camera but can't download yet because I misplaced the box and instructions. As soon as the next round of shitty weather passes I intend to start getting it cleaned up and the drivetrain yanked out. I scored a 3.55 8.8 rear from an Exploder and plan is at this point to use a 71 302 from a motorhome I have. I haven't ruled out whacking it up and grafting on the highbinder cab.

Re: Got my new binder home
Yes. I feel myself slipping into the darkness. I was thinking it's way to nice to whack, then yesterday I see a rust hole about the size of a silver dollar, right at the upper corner of the windshield. I know that isn't good, lots of good solid old cabs got a mouse nest up there and rotted through, also another place rotted through at the cab corner. Neither that bad really. It was last licensed in 1959 and shows 32,000 miles, possibly all the miles it has. Anyway, with my junkyard 302 a few new brake parts and some tlc, it should be a pretty cool shop truck.Admin wrote:it'll get your soul and never see the torch
JD, got any sources for wheel cylinder and master cylinder rebuild kits?

Yeah, I hope it doesn't need too much, go through the brakes for sure. Steering seems real tight and the doors open and close tight, windows roll up and down but the fuzzy crap is all gone out of the channels. Nice little 302 with some turbo or glasspack duals. Should make a nice little run about.

Re: Got my new binder home
I signed on at Old IH forums and already have a guy pming me to buy it because they have a crippled member looking for one with a factory auto. I shot him a price so we'll see. If it goes down the road, I have a 55 Dodge 5 window found that is just about as straight and a lot better looking body style, plus another 56 big window availavle for parts. Both have the 270 Poly engine which will accept hemi heads. And I would be several hundred to the good if that all fell into place.

Re: Got my new binder home
I realize there's not much love for old binders lost here, heh, but thought some of you guys might like a look at a binder museum in a town west of here...

Re: Got my new binder home
I worked at Gibson truck and tractor growing up in Winnsboro Tx.
This was in the late 60's
It was the local IH dealer
I promise I have no love for them.
Trucks or tractors
The owner had a 30 something IH pu in the back building he was going to restore
He never did

Re: Got my new binder home
Over east about 25 miles is the town of Newell. It is a town in the middle of an old soured out irrigation project and mostly just little starving goat farms. Most of the women are fat, greasy and unkept.
A friend of mine told me his uncle's doctors told him he had 6 months to live so he bought an International and married a girl from Newell so it would seem like forever.

Re: Got my new binder home
Here are some more pics. What do you think this thing is worth? I've got a guy haggling me on it. It was last licensed in 59 and shows less then 32,000 miles. Plus it's a first year automatic truck. But there is no title and some stuff is missing off the engine.

Re: Got my new binder home
i see a lot of stuff on c-list that's not as complete in the 2500 range--some a whole lot more--given the rarity of that particular setup, etc, etc---my price as a seller would be 1500 or thereabouts
here's a link for price references
http://www.desertclassics.com/inttrucks.html
i think the desert guy is high, but probably so he's got some wiggle room and i would be hard to budge on 1500
