The Big Boys Empty Big Boy #4018

Its at The Dallas Fair Park RR museum.
Took my son out to see all the trains about 10 years ago when he was 10
We got to climb up in the cab
Seeing it sitting there amoung all the other locomotives made them look small
I can't describe how huge it is
Heres a good article on #4018
    http://home.earthlink.net/~jci/bbmovie.html
The article says it in the best shape of any of them that are left
It says they were going to fire it up.
Wish I could of seen that

We have no icon for drooling... As long as I've been into steam and steam locomotives, I've dreamed of even just once pulling the throttle on a Big Boy... or even a Challenger! UP built the most advanced steam locomotives ever built!!

I read somewhere that some movie wanted to restore one for use in it and the cost of resto was about a $1,000,000....sooo if I win the lottery sometime soon I am just gonna walk right in to UP and have them redo it Smile

if you have an 8mm projector--use the video cam to record the movie---then u can get some tools to convert to dvd--video eats mega bytes big time so have a buncha extra storage available
