You said that where you work they scrap out busses there right?

If so do they still have the engines and trannys in em or are they just the body?

Also do you scrap any foreign cars there?

Yup Spart we get busses and import cars. Sometimes they are whole and driving other times it's just a shell on a flatbed. The scales are a funny thing because you never know what will cross them next. Very Happy

Yes they sell parts. They also own a u pull it yard. All cars and trucks thru 1 ton are given a quick evaluation as they come in. If it's deemed they are worth keeping they are sent to a holding area until processed into inventory then they get prepped and moved into the parts yard. Trucks, busses, farm machinery, motor homes, ect get a better evaluation. Kenworths, Peterbilts and Macks ( except Midliners ) are keepers. Other trucks are kept on a unit by unit basis. Busses and motor homes are usually processed pretty quick. Same with farm and construction machines.

Things they don't sell. Catalytic converters ( law ), usable tires that fit anything in the fleet, Cummins "B" engines, Cummins "K19" engines, Mack V8's, Detroit 12V-71 engines, Cat 3406 ( any version ) engines, John Deere industrial engines, Fuller 13,15 and 18 speed transmissions, Mack double reduction rears, Eaton 402 and 404 series tandem rears, Eaton 2 speed tandem rears, any make locking tandem rears.
