Darn battery Charger Empty Darn battery Charger

    Post by 71ford100 Fri Feb 10, 2012 2:02 pm

Yesterday I was in the shop working on tractor and decided to put out battery charger on it and trickle charge the battery as it won't hold a charge too long (tractor has been ran twice since I bought it). Most MM's were positive ground so I double checked I hooked everything up right, turned it on and nothing! Unhooked everything, shut everything off, and retried it. Now I got a little bit mad as this is a fairly new overpriced John Deere battery charger and started cussing at it....then it dawned on me, I should probably plug it into the extension cord.

I have found that those solid state chargers will not charge a dead battery, they have to have something like 4.5 volts in them before the charger will work.

ya see--there were 2 aggies that wanted to make some money

they decided on cutting firewood to sell

ace had a sale going so they stopped in to enquire--the sales cat assured them a cord a day without a problem

they bought the saw and headed to the woods

2 days later they returned to the store and told the sales cat that the best they could make with the saw was about a rick per day

the sales cat looked the saw all over, checked the bar oil and gas, set it on the floor and busted her off

the aggies jumped and screamed---"what's that noise"?????
