Getting into the North country
So my father called and said he is looking at a plow in Ronan, MT and was wondering if I would get it which isn't a problem but I had a brainblast a moment ago but I'm not sure if it is possible. I know of a MF 97 with FWA about 15 minutes North of the border on the road that goes North from Kalispell. So if I could get the plow apart I thought I may be able to get both however how hard is it to get into Canada and then back out. Some people say I need a passport and others say I don't so I'm kinda confused. So for those in the know how hard would it be to get a tractor over the boarder (tractor was made in USA if that makes a difference).

Not totally sure, but they tell us we need our passports...but I haven't tried it. If you want, you could drop some of it off in Kalispell (I can get ya a place to store it for a day or so, I'm sure) and grab it on the way back. You're only about 25 miles from me then.......so you know what that means!

Re: Getting into the North country
Ive always wondered this guys, on the border between us and cananda do the roads north and south just stop say like a mile before the border so there are only a few roads that go across the border?
Im kinda thinking it would be like when an interstate goes through and all the side roads are closed for miles till you find one that goes across.

I was kinda wondering the same thing.....accidently get on a dirt road to get across. I bet they have to wash all their machiney etcbefore crossing the boarder.

Taxes would be simple......hand all your money over to the parasites.....no problem. One side's as bad as the other!

There are un checked gravel roads across if you know where to go, like section line roads. Last year I heard that they wanted a passport but if you had tons of ID and a birth cert. they would let you go in.

ps--don't lie to them because they will turn you around and put a flag on your name--they started getting sticky back around the 1st gulf war--they will ask you if it's business or pleasure--the old standard answer was "it's my pleasure to do business"--they really don't have much of a sense of humor anymore--i personally know 2 people that tried to skirt the issue and got flagged out for quite a while--like a year or more--good luck

I've heard the no BS stuff before and to wash off anything your hauling across if there is old grass/weeds on it. My dad is over by Baggs and doesn't have cellular signal so idk if he has bought it or even called. I'm thinking the weekend after finals week which is May 8-10

I hope you get the 97, those are cool and rare too. I have never seen one in real, just pictures. I'd really like to have a 99 too.

Re: Getting into the North country
There are a lot of 2wd 97's around here (first tractor I drove out here to unload stuff lol) but the FWA's are a different story. I know where the old style 99 Oliver is sitting but its just the old 4 cyl gas. On a side note my Grandpa and Great Uncle bought a MM G706 new but requested it without FWA. My dad's cousin still has it and a Z that they have had forever

Re: Getting into the North country
Also forgot there is a 97 on the sale I'm going to next Saturday in KS. Its in kinda rough shape and it looks like it was in a fire.... there are a few standard McComicks like a W-4 and a Super W-6 with a TA that I want since they were too small for this area and hard to find!

Re: Getting into the North country
I actually know of several 90 99's idk if any of them would be for sale. They are all standards and the old style sheet metal with the cast radiator.
