Anyone here have any experience with them? A friend of mine has one sitting that has a rebuilt engine. I can get it for $500. It's a 4x4, but sadly an automatic. t seems like they were pretty dependable old wheezers, but I was never around them much.

Sounds like the one my brother in law has.

They are built like brick shithouses from what I understand, They were made by international.

The big things I guess on em are to replace the low pressure pump with an electric one, watch for electrolysis and update the glow plug setup.

Here are a couple of forums I found

They're not the biggest powerhouses but they are reliable. Simple pump/line/nozzle fuel system is easy to work on. Like Spart said glow plugs can be an issue unless the update has been done. I've seen quite a few that the trucks fell apart around them but the engine was still going strong.

I've been told to not buy one unless it has been turboed...but there are few around here but I do know of one that has few miles but it was a ranch truck.
