ford 2.9 v6

are they a good motor???


i am looking for an x-cab ranger---the v6 is showing up and i really know squat about them

Forget the 2.9 but the 4.0 is a good engine

ok--thanks for that---i see that transdapt has a 302 swap kit with all the goodies for around 375 +

i have a 302/c4 that needs a new body around it---i am going to have to have a little mechanics "install engine" party for the blazer---time to play a little Tom Sawyer

i hear scrap is way up--maybe time to do some horse trading

so then there is the 3.0 vulcan---ranger station speaks well of it----input???

2.9 is okay at best.

Lots of head problems with them

The 3.0 is the same engine they used in the taurus, long lasting, great running engine.

the 2.9 is a gutsy little engine.our 88 ranger has one. forget the 3.0, go for the 4.0, they are torque pigs especially in a lighter ranger body

i like the way the 3.0 is set up--nice clean cool intake
