The garden is coming in. Been eating beets, swiss chard and carrots for a couple weeks, also new potatoes. Picked green beans last night and had spuds, green beans and pork chops, mmm..mmm

cool---we got 1 giant tomato early---last 3 weeks have been well supplied with 3 variety of squash--butternut, crookneck & another---and some cukes are coming on---have not seen 1 honey bee---lot's of wasp & bumble bees

    the squash are mighty tasty

i am hoping for a long easy fall/early winter--seems that is when production is best down here--i don't think anything else, short of climate controlled or hydroponic will do any better, right here

No bees here, the apple trees never blossomed. Squash are slow setting on but vines all over the place. I probably won't have any 'maters ripe for several weeks. My rutabagas are all tops and the onions ain't doing for shit either.

may be time to fry some grasshoppers--they are very tasty--just throw the june bugs in with'em---salt to taste

Can you eat those rutabaga tops like greens? I miss the polk sally that grew wild on our fence line as a kid.

Just like a turnip but milder. IDK on eating the tops. I've got more greens than I can eat with the swiss chard and beet greens,
