how to make a muffler Empty how to make a muffler

Post by Admin Sat Jan 26, 2013 11:10 am

the muffler on the old miller blue star 2e has bit the dust--it's mounted on some 1 inch pipe--i want to lengthen and turn it down(aim it down instead of out)--figured to get the appropriate fittings and a length of pipe--drill some ports in the pipe and stuff it with steel wool, then cap the pipe(will drill cap and put some screen in it to keep the stuffing from leaving)

does this sound correct or is there a better way??--it's way to open and noisy, plus i need some spark arrest

    input appreciated scratch study ☀

Sounds like it should work? What about using pipe to get wherever you want and stealing a muffler off like an old briggs and stratton that used pipe fittings and stick it on the end?
