i know 2 things for sure

    distilled water only

    and

    the aspirin solution is bunk

    oh--make it 3 things

batteries are in the same category as tires--going up and never going back down(unless referring to the state of charge save a buck--make a buck 301330 )

    i have 3 batts---charge or jump--hovering at 12+ volt

2 that have that big 1 piece lid--says "never add water"--should say " u have been bent over and reamed"

so with the above kit you can drill & fill

Bought a reconditioned deep cycle battery 20+ years ago
Seems like it lasted a couple years on the boat

A couple years ago I did the aspirin thing in 3 different batterys that had got too weak to do the job. 2 out of the three came back.
Many years ago I read an article in Easyriders about rejuvinating batterys. I did it on several and it worked on most of them. Dump out all the acid, then put in soda water to clean them out. Dump that out and rinse with clean water a couple times, put acid back in (I used new) and recharge. It worked on 5 out of 6. Most batterys die from sulfate. It builds up on the plates and falls off. Get enough in the bottom and the plates short out. I think the aspirin just cleans off the plates so it probably doesn't help a shorted out battery.

sounds good---the sulfate is the killer---i think the guy says the compound is mostly baking soda, with some secret herbs and spices stirred in
