i know this seems pretty aggressive given i have kinda been outta commission but,i am wondering about "a frame" interchanges on 2 different vehicles

1--89 ford f350---would like to put 1/2 ton suspension under it--1979 f150 donor

2--62 impala--same story---1985 pontiac parisienne donor--i intend to use everything from power window stuff, brake system etc--thought about just setting the impala body over on the pontiac frame--i still need to get the tape measure out

i wish i had one of those parts interchange manuals that used to be available

the springs might be wrong length on the pickup.

the others, might have to take the bodies off and see what lines up.

on the 1 ton--i was just gonna swap the spring mounts on the rear housing--the springs are still sufficient--maybe add some air shocks for pulling the trailer

my 2 centavos on the ford: the rear should be easy just exchanging rear end w/out springs, will need drive shaft/ujoint work, the front you are SOL the spindles for the f350 are way thicker at bearing surface.

i guess i will have to find a low mileage 3/4 rear-with some hiway gears-- that should eliminate the driveshaft work--the present diff has major backlash and 4.10 gears--great for pulling but no good otherwise--i'm not a real big 89 fan, but,i can lose the utility box(a ton of weight) and have a heavy duty short wheel base for trailer duty

JD that Chevy - Pontiac frame swap prolly isn't real feasable. The Chevy has an X frame where the Pontiac has the more common ladder style.

Check your local library for a Mitchell Manual.

That would be what you need.

Course you could always buy one and load it on your puter.
