Re: pics of carb stuff
I had the dual carb Clifford intake. You could put 2 or 4 barrel plates on it. I kinda wish I hadn't sold it, or the Edelbrock SP2P but finances dictate a junk dealer has to sell some stuff and usually the stuff that's worth $$$. I do still have a spare Offy DP.

Re: pics of carb stuff
JD, Maybe you could make a new adapter plate and have coolant go through it. You might even get it a little lower.

Re: pics of carb stuff
i owe ya's a pic
my thought is to put a thinner one in place of the current one and then put a 1/2 plate (bored & tapped) on top of the adapter--the heat doesn't seem to transfer well when it's really cold--so far the looped heater hose does fine--i'll need a valve to dis able it in summer
this has been an interesting project--lots to learn here for me--ford had it right--i think those coolant plates may even work reverse in summer and help against percolation

Re: pics of carb stuff
That's a point to ponder JD. Especially when you consider that today's gas has way different additives than it did 25 or 30 years ago.

Re: pics of carb stuff
That outta work! Simple, to the point, and no bs to contend with! Like ya say, put a valve in there if ya want to shut it off in the summer...... looks like a winner to me!

Re: pics of carb stuff
i am not satisfied--so--i am going to replace the 1/2 aluminum with 1/4 steel--thinking better heat transfer from intake
and
on the topside of adapter will go with 2--3/8 aluminum plates sandwiched with coolant path routed around carb base and tapped for fittings after sandwich
